I’m sure it was not easy for Laynie to be away from Sophia so we kept her posted today with lots of photos of our escapades.
Sophia slept well and when she woke up, Mason gave her a bottle. The boys were not too excited to leave her but they knew they were going to see her at lunch. We spent a lot of our day on the St. John campus. I loved taking Sophia to my moms’ group meeting. It was delightful to see so many people’s dote on Sophia. The meeting wrapped up and I had some time to spare before taking her to school. Since the weather was spectacular, I took Sophia for a walk along the Ohio River.
I was headed back when I started getting messages from Walker. “Are you coming?”
“When are you coming?”
“Are you coming NOW?”
It turns out that babies are chick magnets.
Next it was Mason’s turn. Mason has a very special connection with So-So and he has regaled all his friends with stories about her. His friends have been dying to meet Sophia. For them, it was like they were meeting a legend.
Next up in our St. John lap was a visit to Mason’s class. He is star student this week and was given the opportunity to invite a special guest. He spent a lot of his time holding Sophia while I answered questions about what he was like growing up.
Just as I announced that we needed to wrap up our visit, the fire alarm bells went off. I don’t know if this was Sophia’s first drill, but she acted like a pro. She walked out quickly, quietly and in single file.
To make our day even more scholastic in nature, tonight was the Spell Bowl.
The team went to Chick Fil-A for a pre-competition meal and then off to one of the local high schools for the event.
Before we knew it, it was time for bed and we all zonked.
what a great day!
