Last night while the speech tournament was going on, our family was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Sophia and Laynie to Evansville.

Sophia charmed us from the start.

This morning Laynie left us to go to Saint Louis for a business trip until Friday.  Yes, we are getting the privilege of having this baby all to ourselves for three whole days!!!

Sophia was a good sport and joined in all our activities.  She napped after the kids went to school and woke up in time for knitting.  All my fiber friends had heard stories and seen photos of her so they were delighted to meet her in person.

She modeled a hat that Mary Alice made and sat kindly on her lap.

Then she bopped over to Melissa brought an assortment of toys that her daughters gathered from their house.  Melissa lent them to me for the duration of the trip.

After knitting, we went to Bill’s office because he, like everyone else, wanted to show Sophia off.  Then I was off to a going away luncheon.  I surprised everyone by asking for a high chair.  Sophia was very well behaved and enjoyed the Mexican meal quite well.  She napped on our way home and reminded me of the true meaning of a snooze cruise.

After Mason had his snack, he fed Sophia and introduced her Cheerios for the first time!

The afternoon activities tuckered Sophia out and eventually she just crashed on Walker’s chest.

Sophia participated in her first Try It Tuesday.  Tonight featured a fruit, nut and cheese plate.  We sampled mozzarella wrapped with prosciutto, baked brie en croute, roasted chestnuts, smoked gouda, havarti, bread and crackers.  Our fruits were strawberries, grapes and cranberry relish.  I added olives for kicks.

Just before bedtime, Laynie called us and we had a FaceTime chat. We told her all the tales of our day and then blew her a kiss goodnight.
