Last night was the second annual Sole Challenge race at St. John’s. Last year we were missed it because we were otherwise committed to attend a very special nursing ceremony so we were ever so much more excited about this year’s race. To rally the school spirit, anyone who was participating could wear the Sole Challenge shirt to school on Friday. I was jazzed to see all of these shirts at the bus stop.
Prior to the race, the principal led everyone in warm-up exercises.
Then we walked across to the race starting line. It was raining as it had been last year on race night.
The middle school students were invited to do a survivor challenge race but to participate they had to do the full 1.9 mile race instead of the 1 mile race.
Mason, Jackson and I ran the 1.9 mile loop as well.
Walker’s teammates were Davis, Noah, Jackson and Edwin.
One of the challenges included bowling their bodies down a lane and knocking the pin down. They had to keep trying until every member of the team did it.
The final challenge was to crawl through a mud pit.
We all had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year.
Sounds like a mini Dirty Girl
Just amazing to see how the boys have grown.
