Halloween looked different in these parts this year. I was the only one who wore an official costume. I served lunch with a great crew of folks at St. John’s.
We were so busy this month that we didn’t put out our usual Halloween decorations until Halloween day. The forecast was rainy but by midday, the it had passed. Unfortunately, it was still really damp and cold. As a result, we did not have nearly as many trick or treaters as we have had in the past. That was a bummer because Bill bought Universal Yums! Halloween boxes. We made little sampler packages of the candies with descriptions and ingredients listed for each one. Those who did receive them were excited about them. We had lots of leftovers to share with others at work and at school.
The good thing was that Monday night’s Trunk or Treat was dry and much warmer. Older kids mean different costumes. Mason wore all black and a clown mask at school but tonight when he went trick or treating (for probably the last time), he just wore plain clothes. It will be interesting to see what Halloween looks like next year!
