Today’s culinary masterpiece by Mason is homemade New York-Style Pizza from the Binging with Babish cookbook. It is inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.
What you have to know about this pizza is that it can’t be rushed. Per Babish, “Provided you have a day in advance to make the dough, this one comes together with pretty minimal effort.” His method involves measured ingredients for accuracy and repeatability, using a food processor for rapid kneading and gluten formation, an overnight ferment for flavor and texture and a two-stone oven setup for concentrated heat.
Mason followed the recipe to a T (or as close as he could). The recipe yielded two pizzas which he made two nights in a row. They were ooey gooey cheesy delights. I tried a bite and declare it might be the best pizza I have had since we moved here. Who would have realized that my best option for New York pizza has been right under my nose this whole time?
