I never would have thought that I would be so happy to participate in a church service online as I was today. Our local seminarian invited us to his deaconate ordination months ago and I had been looking forward to it wholeheartedly. Garrett has been such a positive presence in our parish and in our scouts program. When Covid restrictions were announced, I worried that the ordination would be cancelled totally. Instead, they limited the attendance to the officiants, the pianist, the cantor, his parents and him.
While I was deeply disappointed not to celebrate in person, I believe the limited number of guests contributed to the sanctity of the ceremony. I will be even more excited to participate in his ordination as a priest next year.
Meanwhile, on the sweater front, it is time to give it a bath. I tried it on yesterday before washing it and was dismayed that after all the hours I had spent on it, the fit was not as I hoped. It is so snug that I’m anticipating that I will have to find it a new home. I did do a gauge swatch and I thought I calculated correctly. Hopefully, hopefully, the yarn will relax after it is washed and dried and all will not be lost.
Aw, man, I guess I’ve never even thought of that– I’ve always admired your skill just to knit something beautiful but never though of having to get a right fit, too!
