Now that the kids are older and can get themselves to and from school and home on the bus, Bill and I have a little more leeway to adventure during school hours. We decided to jump in the car and head north for lunch since he had the day off. We both had a hankering for good Bloomington food and the weather was perfect for a drive. The sun was shining and the air was just a wee bit cool.
Bill and I chose Samira for lunch. We have eaten there multiple times for dinner but we were lured there today for the lunch buffet. It’s such a good way to experience an assortment of a menu’s offerings. We were not disappointed. I say it every time, but if we lived up there, we would be regular regulars. Now we are just out of town regulars. I have yet to decipher the Afghani spices but they sing to Bill and me.
After our lunch, we took a walk around the square, did some window shopping, spied the yarn bombing (seen above) and popped into the used bookstore, Caveat Emptor.
We definitely spent more time in the car than in Bloomington but that was perfect. I got a lot of knitting done on the way up and back. It was a lovely way to spend the day.
There was an Afgani restaurant near my work in Omaha. I would like to try this type of food again!!! Well maybe in a few months :0)
