A Good Kind of Spam

Before we headed back towards home, we tried our luck at a few more caches.  As is the case sometimes, the first one we sought out was not where it was supposed to be.  Hoping our second attempt would yield better results, we went pursued another.  Off on the side of the road, tucked in a guard rail, Mason found the Spam container.

Since we made the trip to the area in honor of Mason and his interest in the Biltmore, we left a trackable inside the container.  A trackable is meant to travel from cache to cache rather than to stay in one place. Mason named our trackable, Cedric, after the dog at the Biltmore.  It has a unique ID number and has a mission attached to it.  For example, when someone finds Cedric and logs it on the website, he will learn that we want it to travel from Asheville back to Indiana.  Leaving Cedric was another tip of the hat to Mason for his choice in our destination.

For lunch we went to a wonderful restaurant called Dough.  It is a bakery and market which specializes in, you guessed it, meals that contain dough.  They make delicious pizzas, calzones and sandwiches and had a wonderful array of fresh salads.  When we pulled in, we spotted a car with this bumper sticker.  It was such a witty reference to an author and bookstore Bill loves.

Of course, we visited the local Trader Joe’s and then began the journey back home. All members of our family agree that Asheville goes down in our books as a great place to visit.  We hope to return soon for a much longer stay.
