I might be the luckiest mom out there as my husband and sons are both fine cooks and doting souls. Several weeks ago, we went to a local restaurant and I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich, which I knew only as a savory meal. Unbeknownst to me, Monte Cristos can also be prepared also sweet. Since that was the style of the restaurant’s version, I couldn’t eat it. That incident was the inspiration for the breakfast I was served in bed this morning.
My version had French toast made with challah, Canadian bacon, sliced red onion and a delightful cheese. It was scrumptious. The fresh berries were more than just a pop of color. They balanced the flavor perfectly.
My waiter and gift fairy were just as delightful as ever.
The day was easy going and filled with love. I got to speak with my mom, my mother-in-law and my grandma and spend the day with my sister-in-law and her mother-in-law. We had the whole gang back for dinner which we ordered in so there was no prep and little clean up.
I felt loved and loving. I’m surrounded by moms who teach me directly and indirectly and I’m grateful for each and every one of them.
All this and Tabasco too!
I took a second look at the picture and think I may have the same tray as you. We have such wonderful taste!
Sounds like a great day–and a yummy breakfast!
Looks fantastic and sounds fantastic! What a great day 🙂
