Advent Day 10

The December days feel especially full with all the usual things and holiday prep on top of that. I got up and did my morning workout on the Bow Flex.  I look forward to my exercise in December because many of my favorite knitters and creatives are posting daily holiday vlogs.  I knit while I am exercising so I can guiltlessly watch and make progress on my Advent knitting.

This season I am following Brooklyn Knitfolk, By the Lakeside, Curious Handmade, Crazy Sock Lady, The Crimson Stitchery, Down Cellar Studio, Not Quite Enough Yarn, Kristy Glass Knits and Stranded.  They don’t all post daily and I don’t always get to watch them all even when they do. I like each of them for different reasons but the one thing they all have in common is that they invite me into their homes and worlds.  They live all over the world: Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, United Kingdom and the United States.

After my workout, I took the trash barrel to the curb and I was rewarded with the sight of the most beautiful sunrise.

While the kids were at school, I wrapped and wrapped. A friend called and said she was having lunch nearby, so I ran to downtown Newburgh to pick up a few books from her. I also had a chance to connect with a few friends on the phone and had a lengthy conversation with Monique.

The school day passed quickly and I had to head to Memorial to pick up Mason. I don’t mind pickup when I get to knit with sunshine on me and my work.

Another good thing that happened was that Bill got off work unexpectedly early.  He crawled under the house while daylight was on his side.  There is indeed a hole in the boys’ tub and underneath the wood has definitely rotted.  This repair is on the list. The good news is that we found out soon enough and we have a good idea of who can handle the job.
