For the last few years, Mason has chosen to spend his birthday at Camp Ondessonk. For boys’ week, he usually chooses Chabanel, a unit reserved for girls the other weeks of summer. Its claim to fame is that it’s carved into the rocks and sometimes a waterfall flows.
The Sunday afternoon drop off was quick and easy. He knew a few of the guys in his cabin and he was looking forward to a great week. We wished our twelve year old well, gave him a hug and headed back towards home.
