Although I would have thought we were closer to Camp Ondessonk starting from St. Louis, our drive was still about two hours. We just got to travel different roads and from the east. We had breakfast at the Golden Pancake right near the hotel. A fellow guest at the diner saw the kids’ Camp O shirts and commented that he was a camper there when he was a kid. Small world.
We did our usual pre-camp routine and got to the gate plenty early. The first week of camp is always even more exciting because of the anticipation.
Mason is staying this week in Brebeuf. He was the first one to check in and got his pick of bunks.
After the swim test, we wished Mason a good week and parted ways.
Walker is spending this week and next as a counselor in training (CIT) so he will be staying in the BOQ. He settled in quickly and said goodbye. The weather looks good for the week and we hope the 2018 camp sessions hold lots of fun in store for all.
