Camp Snapshots :: week 1

Walker Temp Checks Sunday

Pictures of the boys popped up on Bunk 1 this week starting with Walker’s job on Sunday doing temperature checks.

Walker Drums at Inspection 1

He played the drum at the Inspection one night. I bet he was happy to get that opportunity.

Justin Sunday

Justin was Mason’s unit leader this week. He is a very happy, go lucky guy and Mason gets along well with him.

Mason & River Pickle, Carson & Corbin

Throughout the week, I spotted Mason with these guys—River Pickle, Carson and Corbin—as they headed to the various activities

Cowboy Mason

like horseback riding.

Mason Boondoggles

As a senior camper, he got to make a more complicated boondoggle with eight strands rather than a beginner’s four.

Mason's a fish

He got to go swimming

Mason in Gaga

and, of course, hang out at the gaga pit.  He and several buddies were a ref gang keeping an eye on all angles of action.

Mason & Unit stretching pre Marathon

Friday’s big event is Marathon. It gets campers moving so stretching was required.

Mason at Boating at Marathon

Mason Tug of War

Mason pushed a teammate out into the water at boating and pulled his weight at tug of war.

Mason at Marathon 2

This week’s special activity challenged the campers to make a skit based on a Disney story. Hearing that and seeing these photos of Mason explained why someone told me that Mason was funny as Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

Walker at Marathon with Daniel Group

Walker also got to participate in Marathon with his unit, Daniel.

Walker toes the line

His job this week was at Challenge where the campers zipline, climb the rock wall and do the low ropes course and the giant swing.

Walker sunscreen

We cautioned Walker to apply lots of sunscreen while he was at camp, especially while working at Challenge, and he remembered!

Walker Safety First

Week one is in the books! Walker has three more weeks with campers and then he heads home.  Heepwah!
