Cuter than Alton Brown

Walker has been reading lots of Dr. Seuss at school.  The other day he came home with this book eager to to give a few of the recipes a whirl.  More that than try the recipes at home, he wanted to prepare something to share with his classmates.  We cleared it with his teacher and set yesterday afternoon as the sampling day.

The menu included Moose Juice and Noodle-Eating-Poodle-Noodles.  Mrs. B made Walker feel really important and asked him to talk about the book and what he did while I dished up the food and drink.

Moose Juice is orange juice, orange sherbet, banana and vanilla extract blended together with a dollop of whipped cream and Noodle-Eating-Poodle-Noodles is fusilli pasta with butter and good parmesan cheese.

By the way, when I showed up to dish it all up for his class of 18, I discovered that BOTH first grade classes were there—36 mouths to feed in all.  Fortunately, we had more than enough pasta for everyone and just enough moose juice and whipped cream.

There were many requests for seconds so I’d venture to guess that everything was a hit.  Makes me wonder what Walker will want to whip up next…
