Holiday World opened today as part of Stage 4.  It will operate at 50% capacity and will adhere to social distancing guidelines. Guests will have to purchase their tickets online for specific park dates and they will use virtual queues for rides.  They have Holicash wristbands and Apple and Android pay to allow for touchless payment.

Safety aside, we were excited about opening day as it was Mason’s first official day of work! Though I knew it, he told me so on this cute note that I found in my purse after we dropped him off.

Bill and I took advantage of the drive and headed to the nearby Lincoln State Park.  While there were quite a few people there, we were mostly alone.

We parked at the entrance and started hiking.  Some of the trail markers were more helpful than others.  We followed them as well as we could and in the end, we looped around the park and logged 5.5 miles.

The trails were marked moderate.  We crossed bridges, climbed stairs and walked on pine needles, gravel and dirt roads.

We popped out at Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza where several pedestals and markers illustrated milestones in Lincoln’s young life in Indiana.

Mason’s shift ended a few hours early as they were overstaffed in his department.  Bill trekked out to pick him up and made it back for an early Sunday night dinner.
