Drinks with My Kid

Last Friday when I picked up Walker from school, we spent a little bit of time hanging out downtown.  There is a coffee shop called River City about a block or two from Walker’s school that a number of folks had mentioned to me both for their coffee and their wares.  Those two details made for a winning combination in my mind.  Since it was cold and dreary, I suggested to Walker that we pop in for tea and hot chocolate.

River City is a venue for local artisans.  According to the website, it’s a place for local makers to showcase high quality, handmade goods and one of a kind gifts.  They have a wide assortment of items including leather, note cards, woodworking, handmade brooms, soaps and knitted items.  The collections are styled nicely and the feel of the café is relaxed and easy going.

I looked at all the fun things, made a mental note of items to return for and then sat and knit a bit.  I’m glad we had time to explore. I’ll definitely make my way there again.
