Our participation in the Christmas music programs included a band performance as well as singing in the K-5th grade play. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands performed several Winter and Christmas songs and played Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah as the finale. I am so impressed with Mrs. Buedel. She has a very gentle spirit and is fun to watch as the conductor. Under her tutelage, the sound that emanated from these instruments really was melodious and I have to admit it moved me to tears.
I spy a smiley face in the back row.
When the band concert ended, Bill and I moved to the Arena for the second half of the evening’s performance and Mason went off to his classroom. The play was Unfrozen, a spin on elements of the Christmas story with the movie, Frozen.
Walker appeared during the performance but this time to sing as part of the Middle School Choir.
Mason chose to wear a suit and tie. He looked dashing.
The third grade class sang Hark the Herald Angels Sing in the second part called Let Us Go and Christmastime in the Finale. Now I understand why Mason was always singing these songs under his breath.
Christmas is in the air and we now just a little over a week from break!
Memories…thank you for sharing these with me.
