Mason is not the only one who will miss a scout meeting due to our trip. Walker’s den is going to learn all about starting a fire and fire safety. Bill wanted to cook outdoors again so he took advantage of that opportunity to teach Walker the points in the scout handbook.
The two of them disappeared to the fire pit in the backyard. They built a fire and over the next few hours, they went back and forth adding coals and moving them around. The result was a fire lesson for Walker and another great Dutch oven meal for us all.
Tonight Bill prepared beef stew with carrots, celery, pearl onions and potatoes. It was delish!
