We were all counting down the days to celebrate Sophia’s fifth birthday.
She was quite the birthday girl, bringing treats to school and contributing a very special book to the library.
The other super exciting news on this otherwise mundane Friday was the arrival of Mason’s new PlayStation 5. The new console was announced in September of 2020 with a release date of November. In our opinion, Sony mishandled the situation royally. The production did not meet the demand and the stock that did exist was only available online at Sony and a few other big box stores. Needless to say, we were all sore about not getting one. Mason was especially disappointed since he had saved his Holiday World money for this very purpose.
Wednesday I got an unexpected text from Walker that he needed Mason’s PlayStation login and password. He had gotten word of yet another stock update on the Sony website. This was not news as we had been getting those regularly since November. Typically, we would queue up and try to grab one of the very few consoles that sold out in less than five minutes. The whole process was defeating.
This time, however, something different happened. Moments after he asked for the login details, Bill’s credit card alert chimed. Walker had scored one of the coveted consoles for his brother! We were all elated. It shipped right away and was Mason’s surprise on the doorstep today. After the unboxing, he immediately set it up temporarily in the living room. The happy sounds of video game play were heard all throughout the night and all was right with the world.
I love when the kids are good to each other. What a sweet brother. (probably not the theme of this post :0)
