Frog Follies

Bill loves cars.  He loves old cars and he loves cars that have been restored and modified.  That’s why it was no surprise when Bill said he was going to go to Frog Follies, the annual street rod festival held here in Evansville.  He had the opportunity to wander alone and that was right up his alley. No pun intended.

The event has grown quite a lot since the beginning.  Now in its 44th year, there are more than 4000 street rods on display.

Besides this clever decal, Bill mentioned a sticker that read, “Feel free to smell but do not touch.” Fingerprints are clearly not allowed.

In addition to the cars, there was also a huge vendor area divided into sections for new and used parts, swap meet items and collectibles.  I’m sure Bill was trying to figure out how to convince me that a vintage gas pump or signal would fit into our home décor.

He got to end the day with an old favorite: iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts.  DD just opened its first store in our area but because it is not conveniently located to us, this was a special treat.

Maybe next year I can be Bill’s sidekick and wander along with him.
