There is a lot going on this week starting with our summer social at church tomorrow through Saturday and then Walker leaves for scout camp on Sunday. That meant that tonight was the best night to celebrate Bill for Father’s Day. They each picked out fun greetings cards and at least one of them sang.
I don’t know if I have mentioned it but there has been a fast and furious attraction to the British TV show, Doctor Who. It’s something that all three of the boys watch together. (I sit and knit so we all win.) We heard that a shop in the mall had a large variety of Doctor Who paraphernalia, so off we went. The boys were over the moon and went crazy picking out their favorite Doctor Who items for Bill. First he got a Funko figure of the tenth doctor.
Next he received a sonic screwdriver. Someone was extremely excited to give it to him.
He got a grab bag of Lego type bricks to make a Doctor Who mini figure.
a license plate frame that says, “My other ride is the Tardis,”
a Doctor Who lanyard which Walker specifically thought he would wear at the next AAP convention, and a few other small items.
The last thing the boys picked out was an electric kettle so Bill could make tea at work.
It was a fun celebration for Bill. I’m not sure he will get to handle the sonic screwdriver much as it’s been in the hands of the one who chose it since it was opened. Thankfully, Bill is a dad who is superb at modeling the art of sharing.
Margaret is also a Doctor Who fan after stew has shown her some episodes. She became interested when my niece was visiting and saw her liking it. I have never seen an episode!
Mrs. Keepes told me just the other day that she is incorporating some Doctor Who into her classroom decoration. I forget the things she said because I don’t know any of the lingo. She knows that Margaret is a fan.
When it comes to being a fabulous dad, Bill is Dr. Wow!
Glad you all had a great day.
Happy Father’s Day Bill!
