Happy Halloween!

The staff at Bill’s clinic decided everyone should dress up for Halloween a la Despicable Me.  They cast Bill as Gru, the other doc as Dr. Nefario and everyone else as minions.  Bill found the perfect costume in Orlando.

I have to admit, it was so clever to see the entire staff dressed in the same theme.  The best part was that the costumes were still very comfortable for seeing patients.

The clinic also hosted a pumpkin contest.  I love this idea! I was very impressed with how they customized and decorated their pumpkins.

Back at school, it was time to party! I wisely did not sign up for any responsibilities because I knew I would not have recovered from the Orlando trip.  I enjoyed being a guest and popping from one classroom to another.

Peekaboo! A braver mom than I brought paint to transform the masks.

Then I was off to the fifth grade where snacks might have been the best part of the afternoon.

As I mentioned yesterday, the weather put a damper on the festivities.  Bill and I went back and forth about whether we would go out for trick or treating.  The skies outside looked as blue as usual at least in the East.

Within 30 minutes we went from definitely not going out to definitely dressing up in full costume.  Thanks to Bill, Walker was transformed to a frightening zombie in about 15 minutes.

Mason made a very good Minecraft mummy.

Per his request, we added the squares to a costume I sewed and we sprinkled glow sticks on it so he would light up in the night.

Kim joined us for the walk around the neighborhood.  She too was all decked out in a clever costume as all of the Village People.  Regrettably, I do not have a picture of her but if she passes one to me—hint, hint—I’ll be sure to add it here.

So all in all, Halloween ended up being just perfect.  We had a large number of visitors to our door and we collected quite a lot of booty. Now it’s time to sort out the candy and send everyone off to bed.
