Hello, Campers!

To say the kids were eager to get (back) to camp would be an understatement.  Though the gates don’t open until 1 pm, they insisted upon leaving at 8 am.  I guess we should have wrapped up a minute faster at the pit stop because we pulled into camp behind the car that got the coveted title of first in line.  It didn’t hamper our spirits one bit as we unloaded and walked the long and winding road back to the camp entrance.

We had a blast waving to the counselors returning from breakfast out in town and welcoming the arriving cars.

At 1 pm, the gates opened.  We blitzed through the check in and headed down to the lake for the swim test.

When Mason reached the second dock, Connor, the counselor, enthusiastically called out to him, “Hey, Mason! You are back!! You won Golden Arrowhead at Session 1.  High five!” With as many campers that come and go, I was really impressed that he remembered Mason.

We walked the boys back to the front of camp to say goodbye via the dining hall.

This is the face of a boy who promised me that the shirt he hid at the base of this tree at Session 1 would still be there.  I’m pretty sure he was disappointed that the groundskeepers had done such a wonderful job.

Having said our official goodbyes, Bill and I left the boys at the trading post and gaga pit and headed to the car.  Camp is once again in session.
