The new Play Station VR (Virtual Reality) is slated for release on October 15th, 2016. Mason is especially excited about this and has been following the news like a true fan. He discovered that in select areas, the closest to us being Louisville, a Play Station VR demonstration would be available for the public. In his coy way, Mason suggested we go to the Louisville Zoo and then, since we happened to be in the area, we check out the VR.
The zoo sounded like a great idea because Mason loves animals and Louisville Zoo has the aerial adventure course that we enjoy. Although we learned before we left that the demonstrations only happened on select weekends, I insisted we go today because it was what we had planned. Our first stop was the ropes course. The first picture gives a pretty good idea about what the attraction is like. We went across all the paths several times and some were really tricky.
(I liked the composition of artifacts that were included in this display.)
We traipsed all over the zoo. It was so hot but we got by with the help of a small spray bottle. By about 3 pm, though, we decided we had had our fill of the heat and the animals.
We decided to stop at Trader Joe’s and window shop in a few other stores nearby. Our last stop before dinner was the Best Buy where the demo would have taken place if it were scheduled. After thorough confirmation that the demo was NOT possible under any circumstances, we went to dinner at P. F. Chang’s. Now that Mason has decided he likes Chinese food, this was indeed a fun restaurant choice.
Although the trip was a bust in terms of the VR, we did have a good time and hopefully we will make it back on a VR demo weekend.
Love that there is such willingness for adventure. My favorite picture is the approach of the seal?, sea lion?
