Camp Ondessonk offered a brand new adventure camp this year and when Walker discovered it, he enthusiastically asked to participate. How often would our fair-skinned boy get the opportunity to go surfing in the Midwest?
Tonight the campers will travel to Charleston, South Carolina where they will participate in a multi-day surf camp with professional surfing instructors. They will also get to experience stand up paddle boarding and take a half day kayak tour through saltwater marshes with abundant wildlife.
This is Walker’s first off-site adventure camp and we are eager to hear more when he gets back. He’ll be gone for two weeks at camp with the well earned Saturday stay over. Let’s hope he has loads of fun, applies copious amounts of sunblock, and had oodles of fun.
I remember standing along side of the harbor at Charleston and thinking that something important had happened there…ugh, Fort Sumpter. At least I was aware that it was important.
