Mason got an early start out the door today for his 8:30 AM training at Holiday World. Walker was kind enough to drive him for me since I had an 8:50 AM dentist appointment that I didn’t want to miss. When the pandemic hit and the dentists’ offices closed, many appointments were cancelled. Unfortunately, Bill fell in that category and has to reschedule. When our dentist reopened, they just resumed the already scheduled appointments which meant that I was next up. I was not going to let my appointment slide. Many people expressed anxiety about being safe practices, but my dentist and hygienist made me feel at ease. They wore the correct gear, were gloved and sanitized often.
Another highlight of the day was my first pedicure in over eight weeks. Boy, was this heaven! I do not like touching my feet but over the quarantine, I was desperate enough to give myself a home pedicure. It was not the same so I couldn’t wait to get to my local salon again with my BFF, Liz. This princess treatment is certainly one of my indulgences. Their safe practices included hanging plexi screens over the footbaths, face shields and single use pedicure tools.
Just was I was finishing my pedicure, I got a call from Mason that his training had ended early and he was ready to be picked up. Off to Holiday World I went. It was nice to drive the familiar back roads to a place we used to frequent quite a lot.
We had a Mexican carry in dinner tonight to celebrate Mason’s first day of work and to hear his tales. It’s going to be a good summer, just different than we originally expected.
