Walker has been looking forward to this day for years. Today marks the first time he is driving himself to camp in the summer.
Today he begins a five week stint as an LIT. Last summer he was a CIT, a counselor in training, for two weeks. This summer he is one step closer to being an employee of camp. As an LIT, a leader in training, he is on staff but he is not paid staff. He begins with a week of orientation and then works for the first four weeks of the camp season.
Packing his things was a long process. Thankfully, he did some of it alone and the rest was accomplished under Bill’s careful eye.
The boys grow in amazing ways with sunshine, fresh air and campfires and I can’t wait to see what this experience does to and for Walker.
Heepwah!
Oh, I feel old.
