On Sunday, July 1st, we dropped Walker off for a two week run of adventure camps with Camp Ondessonk. This week he is headed to the Smoky Mountains. After we checked him in, he mustered with the other campers and once all had arrived, they got on the road.

They stayed overnight in Cumberland Mountain State Park on Sunday.

They also visited an exhibit about the Civilian Conservation Core at the Visitor Center.
Walker can say he hiked on part of the Appalachian Trail with Evan, Darien, Walker, Josie, Sam and Sage.
They made a pit stop at this boat slip in Tennessee. The water was inviting and the view beautiful.
Monday afternoon to Wednesday, they camped just outside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. They did day hikes on trails and cooked all their meals themselves. Tuesday night, while camping at Turkey Creek Campground, the stove caught on fire during dinner. Thankfully, they had two more camp stoves with them.
Wednesday afternoon they made it to the Smoky Mountain National Park visitor center where they spotted these pigs.
Later that day they came across a few footbridges.
From Clingmans Dome, they got to see breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains.
The complete adventure group included Darien, Sam, Evan, Walker, Max, Eli and Emily in the back and Abbie, Josie, Sage and Kevan in front.
On the fourth of July, they swam out in this lake to watch the fireworks. Wednesday afternoon and Thursday they went to Nantahala Outdoor Center for the zip line adventure park and whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River.
Friday was spent on the road for the eight hour drive back to camp. This group of kiddos became great friends over the last week.
