We had another adventure up our sleeves for Mason today. We packed him up and set off early to arrive just as the gates were opening at Six Flags in St. Louis. The funny thing is that Walker texted us as we were approaching the arch and asked us how St. Louis was. Since our trip was a total secret, I’m assuming the wise guy tracked me with Find My iPhone. We told him to watch out or we were going to meet him at his worksite.
We pulled off our surprise until just about an exit or two before we got off the highway.
The skies were gray and ominous when we arrived and we did get caught in a few showers but overall, it was a wonderful day. The cloud cover meant it didn’t get too hot and we didn’t have to worry about too much sun.
The park was moderately busy but it didn’t affect our experience at all. We had Flash passes that allowed us to schedule our ride times and walk to the front of the lines. That perk really enhanced our stay. We were able to go to on so many rides!
Here’s the rundown of what we rode and how many times we rode each:
River King Mine Train (steel coaster), once
American Thunder (2,700 foot long wooden roller coaster), once
Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast (linear induction, steel coaster), twice
Pandemonium (a spinning coaster), three times
The Boss (5,051 foot long, wooden roller coaster), twice
Screamin’ Eagle (a 110 foot wooden roller coaster), once
The Tidal Wave (water ride with a 50’ drop), once
Log Flume (water ride), once
Thunder River (ride the rapids), twice
Sky Screamer (236 foot swing ride at 43 mph), once
Justice League: Battle of Metropolis (4D real time gaming, interactive ride), once
Colossus (the 18 story Ferris Wheel), once
That’s 17 rides in the 8 hours we were there which is not too shabby!
I had to take a break and catch my stomach after one ride so I pulled out my knitting for just a few minutes.
Mason was so happy to find a Gryffindor hat for his take home souvenir.
Just before we headed out, he and I had a silly moment while we waited for Bill to return with a waffle ice cream cone. We left at closing and headed for home.
