Thursday in Los Angeles

We opted to go to Los Angeles for this long weekend.  It happens to be Thanksgiving but we did not go to LA to celebrate Thanksgiving. Let’s be clear.  We had several goals: to see Bill’s mom, to go to the LA Auto Show and to spend time as a family.

We flew out super early from Nashville to LAX. Thanks to all of his travels last summer, Walker unexpectedly got upgraded to first class and Mason to Comfort Plus.  That just left Bill and me back in the rear with all the commoners.

After we landed we drove straight out to Bill’s mom’s house.  We made plans to pick up food for lunch to eat there.  Her neighborhood has quite the number of authentic Mexican restaurants and we were pleased with the one we randomly chose.

We spent the afternoon visiting with Moma Suzanne and playing with Barney.  Late afternoon we drove to Koreatown to a restaurant called BCD Tofu House

Little did I know when I chose it that we had selected a very well known Korean chain.  It was clearly just Thursday there, not Thanksgiving.  We were one of few non-Korean families dining and that was perfect for us.  Our selections were Bulgogi (not pictured), Yellow Corvina with banchan (side dishes), Hot Stone Bibimbop and Vegetable Soon Tofu. It was all delicious.  Before returning to the hotel, Bill showed us the apartment he used to live in with Brad and the McDonald’s where he worked on South Western Avenue.

Since we were up super early for our flight and we needed to have an early start on Friday, we all crashed.
