Two More

Things are heating up here with the election and with Covid. Lots of campaign signs have been posted all over town but today I notice the first of this kind announcing where early voting will take place.

Two more students at Memorial were positive bringing the count up to 19. Further, the principal’s email said that, “We did identify a handful of close contacts due to extra-curricular activities and/or outside social gatherings and have notified those individuals.”  Still the kids will resume school tomorrow.  Mason is uncertain how long regular school attendance will last.  He anticipates that the social distancing will dramatically limit any contact with his friends, making it more work than it’s worth.  We really have to take this one day at a time and try to stay hopeful.

Meanwhile, it’s time for the farmer to pull the corn in from behind our house.  Thirteen years here and the sound of the combine rolling in the back fields still makes me come running.  Over the next few days, the view from the kitchen will open up as increasingly more and more acres are plowed.

  • In Newburgh they used to bale hay in the field behind our house!!! Sorry to hear about the cases at Memorial. One day at a time. My kids are at school today. My 2 day without kids or work since March! Doesn’t feel right…but I did catch up on my banking and blogging!
