Today when Bill got up, he told me he was feeling much better.  That makes me wonder how badly he felt yesterday because he didn’t complain much at all. He has the ability to put aside any physical needs or discomfort and press on due to the training he had in both medical school and the Coast Guard.

We went to Mass at St. Bennet’s today celebrated by Archbishop Cushley of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh.  We heard some subtle differences in some of their responses.  For example, at the prayer of the faithful, instead of saying, “We pray to the Lord” and “Lord, hear our prayer,” they said, “Lord, hear us” and “Lord, graciously hear us.”

Mid-morning I received the happy alert that I was scheduled to work my first shift at the Covid clinic. I signed up on Friday for several open shifts but was on the wait list. Today they released the schedule and now I can make plans for the beginning of the week.

Otherwise, we got to spend a lot of time puttering around and taking care of small tasks.  We put away more decorations and tidied up.  I noticed a small puddle in the laundry room which required more investigation.  Bill showed me how to diagnose a leak in the washer and then he was able to google the part and order it on Amazon.

This evening our dinner was simple leftovers that I stretched a little further. I gave everyone something he liked and had something delicious myself.  Bill, Mason and I watched an episode of a new reality show about tattooing called Ink Master and I crawled into bed with my book.
