Up and Down

One of the first things Bill did this morning was take his temperature. It was elevated since he usually runs in the 96s.  After the second dose of the Covid vaccine, he was curious to monitor it.

Three hours later, it was coming down and he was more satisfied.

Because we didn’t know what to expect with the side effects of the vaccine, we didn’t make many plans for the day. It was a cold Saturday and we spent it tearing down Christmas.  Bill took off the ornaments on our tree and restrung it with new lights.  We had purchased a pre-lit artificial one a few years ago and regrettably, several large swaths had gone dark. The lights are never Bill’s favorite part of decorating but we agreed that fixing this problem now was the best strategy.  With that task accomplished, he moved outside. He pulled in all the lights that line our house and walkway, the ball ornaments we hang on the tree and the tin nutcrackers.

Meanwhile I worked on the putting away the ornaments, the wooden nutcrackers, the nativity sets and the other miscellaneous Christmas decorations from around the house. There are always multiple totes involved and many trips to the attic and I am always relieved when it is done. I also knit a bit and did my daily writing.

At the end of the day, we reviewed Bill’s symptoms from the second shot.  He was tired and he had a slight temperature (for him) but he did not feel so bad that he couldn’t do the physical work he tackled.
