Buttons and Burgers

Yesterday was a pretty mellow day.  We puttered around the house, I went grocery shopping and Mason prepared pizza for our family dinner.  It was great!

Today was a typical Monday.  After dropping Mason off, I hit the ground running. I mopped the floors and then tackled a bunch of administration paperwork and computer tasks.  I was grateful to be home when the garage door folks came to fix the latest repair need.  They were in and out lickety split and we didn’t get billed for it.

Tonight was Mason’s orientation at McDonalds.  It was rainy but I’m glad he showed up (and I hope they noticed that he showed up). He had a good first shift and when when he got home, he regaled us with stories.  The funniest thing he said was that another employee told him everyone there had either a disability, a disorder or a felony. Interesting crowd! I think Mason will enjoy working with that group.

When I dropped Mason off, I noticed that the adjacent parking lot to McDonalds has been fenced off for the future home of something that is going to make Bill very happy.  Dunkin Donuts is opening its third location in Newburgh.

Tonight for dinner I prepared Italian Beef for Mason and made roasted shitake and bok choy with a fried egg and rice for the rest of us.

I also started a hat today using a stitch called the Estonian Button stitch. It’s a cross between a bobble and smocking and is easier to do than it looks.  I’m excited about the design so the hat is working up quickly.
