Picking Joy

My day started off great with a happy walk this morning.  In the morning light I picked flowers.  Some might call them weeds but isn’t it all just a matter of attitude?

When I spied this beautiful sidewalk art, my heart felt light and joyful.  While I don’t know these neighbors, Bill and I have seen them out late on their driveway as a family playing games and drawing with chalk.

I am working on a test knit for Kim who has designed this baby hat.  It was my project while I visited with my Newburgh knitting friends today.

The day continued swimmingly and my gratitude list included these items:

Negative

Walker’s negative Covid-19 test results

A variety of items purchased for the food pantry

My sweater project

Service given and received in the form of phone calls and texts with fellow travelers on the journey

Blog posts written

A load of laundry done

Podcasts of all sorts to pass the time and stretch my brain

Tonight I asked for dinner carry in and my request was met with approval.  Apparently, yesterday’s announcement from Sakura got me thinking of Japanese food.  Sushi is something that everyone in our house likes and this is something to celebrate. We ordered from Wasabi and got a number of rolls to sample. I printed out little slips so we could identify what each roll was.  I love when we do this. It’s the best way to discover new choices.
